License and pricing
Sealpixel is published under the Business Source License 1.1 (BSL). You can read, build, modify, fork and redistribute everything, and you can verify the parity claims yourself. The BSL is not an OSI open source license, because production use is limited until the change date: four years after a version is published, that version converts to the Apache License 2.0. The Additional Use Grant excludes offering Sealpixel itself as a competing image editing product or service.
- Free below EUR 1,000,000 of annual revenue. Individuals building for themselves, and organizations under that threshold, use Sealpixel free of charge in production, commercial products included. Revenue counts across the whole group; for client work, the client's revenue decides.
- Above the threshold, one developer seat per developer who works on a codebase that includes Sealpixel: 599 EUR per seat per year list price, 499 EUR for seats bought in the first year after 1.0 with that price kept for renewals, 10 percent off from 5 seats and 20 percent from 10; all products and domains included, updates and support during the term, perpetual use of every release you received. 30-day money-back guarantee.
- Enterprise: source escrow, custom terms, SLA and invoicing on request.

There is no runtime license check. The software never phones home.
